media placements
When working at Jill Schmidt PR last summer, I worked on a few different client accounts including: American Licorice Company (owners of Sour Punch and Red Vines), Lola and the Boys, and the Glacier Ice Arena.
These are a few of the media placements I secured for them...
July 18, 2017: For National Sour Candy Day, I reached out to several different Chicago news outlets to see if they would accept Sour Punch's "Sour Face Challenge," and luckily, Steve Cochran from WGN Radio accepted!
Sour Punch
Lola & the Boys
August 8, 2017: As the school year approached, I pitched a "Back to School Fashion" story angle to Los Angeles television outlets and successfully secured a placement for Lola and the Boys on the CW.
July 23, 2017: I reached out to women casted in The Real Housewives television show in order to send clothing samples for their children in exchange for a social media post. Aviva Drescher, a Real Housewife from seasons 5 & 6 in New York City loved the samples and happily posted on her personal Instagram account and tagged Lola and the Boys.
July 17, 2017: Popular Chicago radio host, Showbiz Shelly from B96 agreed to post about Sour Punch's event for National Sour Candy Day on her twitter account. This post reached 17.4K followers.
The Glacier
July 7, 2017: The Glacier Ice Arena hosts many fundraisers throughout the year including Pucks for Autism which is a hockey tournament that raises money for the SEDOL Foundation. After reaching out to Chicago newspapers to cover this event, The Daily Herald showed interest and decided to cover this event.
July 11, 2017: Former Blackhawks player, Brent Sopel, taught a hockey camp at The Glacier this summer which was a clear draw for media coverage. I communicated back and forth with Chicago's WGN TV and secured this media placement in early July.
